Collection: HEALTHY EATING
First of all, I am not going to be saying that you can never have yummy desserts or snacks again but will say that we can't overeat on foods that don't supply us with the proper nutrients we need. Overeating even on healthy food is also a problem as it can lead to a calorie surplus which can lead to obesity.
The goal for eating will be that 80-90% of the foods that you eat are healthy and nutritious which will allow you to also enjoy some other foods that are not so nutritious for you.
Unfortunately, many people allow food to become a somewhat god in their lives because of stress, pain or self-indulgence. To develop a healthy lifestyle of eating we need to ensure that when we are eating, we are still serving God who created our bodies as temples. We should treat our bodies as such, eating in moderation and with self-control and keeping ourselves as healthy as we can to do the will of God and serve for Him.
Many people have very busy lives and sometimes the choices we make for what we eat is out of convenience. Example, Mom and Dad work until 5 pm and only have an hour to get out the door to take their children to baseball and ballet practices. Out of convenience they pick up some fast food on the way home from work. Once and a while there is nothing wrong with this but when it becomes a habit of a few times a week, we develop poor eating habits, eat food that doesn't give us energy and can create healthy concerns.
